Marco joined energypeople in 2016 as an Electrical Design Engineer from UK Power Networks (UKPN) where he worked as a Network Development Engineer from 2012-2014. Educated at the Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia Nova University, Lisbon (which included an honourable mention for his MSc dissertation ‘Integrating Wind Generation in the Distribution Network’ – increasing the capacity of overhead line via dynamic line ratings), he has since gained experience in undertaking reviews of strategic network design standards, power systems and fault level studies and overhead line capacity enhancements.

He is currently working as part of energypeople’s team of experienced Designers on the detailed designs of substations and connection of renewable energy projects to the UK’s electricity network, from LV up to and including 132kV.

He is a former musician (percussionist) at a wind instrument philharmonic and has undertaken a range of volunteering activities.
