This scheme is part of energypeople’s portfolio on LV design, which includes single and three phase domestic, commercial, unmetered and temporary builders’ supplies. Our role is to deliver a complete design and also to offer advice to the client throughout the design submission process. energypeople were commissioned by HVMS to design a 3 phase LV connection with an import capacity of 120 kVA. This was for a Temporary Builders Supply located in Woking, Surrey. The goal for this scheme was to submit the design within a specific timeframe and successfully achieve approval by the DNO (UKPN). Implementing UKPN standards and regulations, while corresponding to client’s requirements, meant that liaising directly with the DNO was essential for the successful completion of the design process. After receiving the Point of Connection information by UKPN, a cable route was established up to the Point of Supply and within the development. Cable sizing calculations determined the type and size of cables as well the selection of the appropriate jointing and termination arrangements, always within UKPN standards. A report detailing design parameters, cable calculations, materials list and a list of references was issued and submitted together with our final design. Underground cable consent drawings were not required by HVMS, but they can also form part of our deliverables.
