One of the Distribution and supply companies was subject to an ‘Appropriate Person’ Audit of their system protection arrangements, which revealed a number of areas requiring improvement. energypeople are supporting the company through drafting a protection policy framework for generation, transmission and distribution together with supporting codes of practice covering, among other things, new project analysis, protection settings and records, and maintenance.

The team also conducted a competence review of protection team to form a sound basis on which to build future capability. As a supplement to this work, standard operating procedures on ‘Incident and Accident Reporting and Investigation’ and ‘Operational Audits’ were also prepared.
